Ring Making Experience Sterling Silver

Step into the forge and create something that will last a lifetime.

Our Ring Making Experience is a practical, immersive introduction to jewellery making, held right here at our working blacksmith forge in the heart of Ipswich. Whether you’re coming as a couple, on your own, or as part of a small group, this is a chance to slow down, learn real skills, and leave with a sterling silver ring you’ve made with your own hands.

For couples, this can be a meaningful wedding ring or commitment ring experience — designing and making rings for one another under guidance, rather than simply buying them. For others, it’s a solid starting point into jewellery and silversmithing, with transferable skills you can build on.

Over approximately 3 hours, you’ll be guided through the full process, including:

Ring sizing and measuring

Cutting and forming sterling silver

Soldering and heat control

Texturing and surface finishes

Pickling and cleaning

Polishing and final finishing

Day Course

No prior experience is needed. Everything is demonstrated step-by-step, with plenty of hands-on time and support throughout. The focus is on learning proper techniques, not rushing the outcome.

You’ll leave with:

A finished sterling silver ring (or rings, depending on booking)

A grounding in core jewellery-making skills

A deeper appreciation for traditional craft and making

This experience is relaxed, informative, and genuinely hands-on — hosted in a real forge, not a classroom or studio showroom.

Duration: ~3 hours

Format: Solo, couples, or small groups

Location: Our blacksmith forge in central Ipswich

Craft something personal. Learn skills you’ll carry forward. Leave with more than just a ring

All materials, safety gear, and full instruction are provided. No experience is necessary — just a bit of curiosity, enthusiasm, and a willingness to get hands-on with hot steel.
