The Stag & Hen Experience at Murrill Forge
Forge Your Own Legend
Fire. Steel. Mates. Memories.
If you’re looking for a stag or hen experience that doesn’t involve paintball bruises or awkward karaoke, this is it.
Spend the day at Murrill Forge in Ipswich, where you and your crew will craft something unforgettable — together.
What You’ll Do
This isn’t a demo. It’s hands-on blacksmithing — with sparks flying and hammers swinging.
You’ll spend the day learning basic forging skills, guided step-by-step by our professional bladesmiths.
Each person will forge their own bottle opener (the perfect warm-up and souvenir), and then take turns forging part of a ceremonial sword for the stag or hen.
By the end of the day, you’ll have:
One completed sword — forged by the whole group
A bottle opener you’ve made yourself
A camera roll full of epic photos
And a story you’ll be telling for years
It’s loud, it’s fiery, it’s creative — and you’ll walk away with something real.
If you’ve been hunting for a stag or hen do that’s actually worth remembering, this is it.
After the forge, you’re right near plenty of great pubs, restaurants, and hotels in Ipswich — ideal for keeping the celebrations rolling.
Group Size, BBQ & Timing
Ideal for groups of 6–10 people, though we can adjust depending on your plans.
Sessions usually run 10am–4pm, including breaks, photo time, and a BBQ lunch at the forge.
We provide all tools, materials, safety gear, and guidance — you just bring your group, your energy, and your appetite for fire and fun.

About the Sword
Let’s be honest — nobody’s taking a sharpened weapon to the pub.
The sword you forge will look incredible, but it’s purely decorative. It’ll be:
Forged by hand at the anvil
Fitted with a pre-made pommel and guard
Blunt and un-hardened, safe for display
Polished and finished ready for the stag or hen to take home that same day
